Re: Sighting in issues ...Matrix 310

Its not uncommon. You need to chrono it then make adjustments from there. I strive for 300 fps or better and I ONLY trust the ACOG or Nikon Bolt. The Excalibur scopes make good weights for surf fishing. From the Matrix Grizzlies to the 330 I use the 100gr Boltcutters, X-Act, and field tips now. I th...

Re: Robin hooded my first bolt

I’ve never done it. I knew from the first bullseye shot that would be a risky idea.

Re: new matrix string seems shorter??

Sounds like you need to adjust your crossbow stringer to pull the limbs farther, and is the brace height on a matrix 1”?

Re: Reducing scent

The animal can ALWAYS smell you, depending on factors, they may not be alarmed by you. All of these game animals can not only smell one kernal of corn for miles, they can walk straight to it.

Re: Cocking rope

I marked the top left side of my cocking hook two ways and it makes it very fast. I cut some little textures and I put some spots of white appliance paint. It becomes an automatic reference for having the proper side hook face down for cocking in the dark and light.

Re: New to Excalibur Crossbows

Sew is correct about the “supremacists”. You throw in pinch of rednek Ignorance with Arrogance and you have a true pseudo cognoscenti. These folk don’t mix well with an experienced utilitarian. You find the utilitarian often using an Excalibur crossbow, 30-30, 30-06, or other common calibers, wool &...

Re: New to Excalibur Crossbows

I don’t know the nature of the ribbing from others you are taking but all of us crossbowers have heard the BS.

Just remember If the bully doesn’t hunt with a longbow in archery season and a flintlock during rifle season then he/she is full of crap.

Just hunt!

Re: New to Excalibur Crossbows

You must have reasoning power because you bought it. The 330 is all you’ll ever need.
I personally feel the 100gr Boltcutters, Xact, and 100gr Field points out of that bow will
Give you all the options you’ll need.

Re: Regarding Sound Deadening............

For me, I found its not how loud it is but how long the sound resonates. I put a chunck of bike inner tube between the riser and stirrup and I stretch wrap the sides of the stirrup with some innertube and duct tape it in place (Dipping probably works best). I also put a piece of velcro on the unders...

Re: WTH? Excalibur 100gr Fixed blade

I tested a few of the xact and 100 boltcutters with the blades at 20 and 50 yards and they hit the same place. I did the bulk (about sixty shots) without blades. I found no flight variance at those ranges at my speed. I’m not really into flight data as much as actual performance. There was no breeze...

Re: WTH? Excalibur 100gr Fixed blade

Ok, so I tested these 100gr this morning and I shot a bunch of bolts at different ranges because I couldn’t believe my eyes. I used the Grizzly this morning aptly named “goodnight”. It uses the stock string and a Nikon Boltcutter and Diablo bolts. I haven’t chron’d it with these 100gr yet but feel i...
