Below is our current warranty policy regarding alterations to Excalibur Crossbow products.

WARRANTY POLICY AND DISCLAIMER

May, 2013 (Subject to change without notice)

RE: WARRANTY EXCLUSION – Aftermarket Components

Several companies are producing aftermarket components specifically designed to fit Excalibur crossbow models.
All modifications to any part of your Excalibur Crossbow product will be at your own risk. Any alteration or substitution of components on an Excalibur Crossbow product will VOID warranty and liability.
All warranty consideration will be at the discretion of Excalibur Crossbow.
Any questions regarding Excalibur Crossbow warranty policies should be directed to our Customer Service Department.

WOW, any and all aftermarket components and parts?

So,

NO to triggertech?

NO to all custom strings?

No to better and smarter scope base mounting hardware, scope rings and scopes?

Lots of folks buy and/or make aftermarket/customs parts and accessories.

If my limbs break when I am using an aftermarket or my own custom strings then Excalibur will not warranty my limbs?

Beer Nutz, you are spot on. If anyone is unhappy with the Excalibur as purchased, then tell them. If you go and modify your bow then you take your chances with warranty. This is nothing new. Excalibur makes a very good product that will perform as it should right out of the box.

Sounds like not only are they smart about building crossbows They are very smart on the business end too Its actually not uncommon on every product you buy out there If you alter anything you are taking there workmanship out of the picture I say its very smart and it lets me know the people who desinged the bow Im putting upto my cheek are very smart and I have piece of mind its not going to come apart at the seams when I pull the trigger JMO

Very simple you want your warranty to stay in place buy and use the bow as is it will do whatever you need it to do as is.

I think this has come about do to the trigger jobs and replacements. Can't blame for covering their butts why should they replace broken limbs if a trigger unit they did not supply fails.

well they have at that auction in july that new matrix with the laminated stock & (boo string) wonder how that will hold up if l read things right ? for warranty

Things will remain the same. Look around on some other forums and see some clowns putting other limbs on and other companies stocks ect and we all see where this came from. I can understand.

I agree. The aftermarket strings had little to nothing to do with Excals warranty post. Aftermarket limbs, stocks, string stops and triggers are what have Excal worried.
I do not think any company would honor a warranty once a bow has been reworked by aftermarket add ons.

The bow that was made for charity would be totally overseen by excal. A stupid point really. I think they are really talking about limbs, triggers and components that are vital to the bows safety and performance. They do say warranty will be at their discression. They are very fair and ive never heard of them not honouring a warranty claim. Ever!

Personally if I was the owners of Excal I would be wondering WTH. I make a great product and then a bunch of folks on the forum start asking after buying my product is any good mods for this crossbow or how do I mod it?

I would start to wonder is no one ever satisfied with out tinkering? I did two alterations to my Old Wolverine bought new limbs just so I could use the newer strings and I cut a groove in the stock in front of the wrist of the stock so I could use a shorter rope cocker. Now I do not consider these mods since Excal did it to the new crossbows they come out with after the Wolverine. I think there is a difference between modifying something and upgrading it to modern standards if you use factory parts. I can see where parts made by some one else in the bow its self would be frowned upon by any manufacturer.

My new Parker says to use Capture nocks. That is what I will use. Strings and cables will be factory as well. Their wax and lube is pricey but it is different than any lube or wax I have used so I will use their products to up keep the string and cables since their cables like a lot of the new bows are more like a string than a covered cable. Other add ones like scopes or red dot sights is no big deal it is not a permanent part of the xbow no matter who makes it.

Well I have to disagree with most of that. If you change the scope, what will that do, just a different aiming view. If you change the trigger, what would that do, just releases the string. If you change the string stoppers, just changes what the string hits, no difference. As far as the stock goes as long as the power stroke is not exceeded, it shouldn't make a difference. But there is a reason that Boo will not sell you a custom string if you haven't been shooting a crossbow for at least a year. He figures that after a year you have enough experience not to dry fire it. A custom string is not as forgiving as a stock string and can cause a catastrophic failure when dry fired. Nothing against a Boo string, I have two, and love them. Just saying, I think as for as after market parts go, the string could cause more damage than any thing else. JMO. :lol: :lol:

I noticed the cup at end of my quiver was broke....a big chunk out of it....I bought an equinox 2 years ago...........can I buy a new cup to to repair quiver or is it replace under some sort of goodwill warantee

I suppose an aftermarket could get Excalibur to certify their product as is done in some mfg items. Otherwise its a norm that major components and even some minor ones can increase failure of an item that was designed and tested in an exacted fashion and thus can void warranties.

However I once had a customer that modified his exocet by running over it with a dodge 4x4 p/u thus ruining the scope but Excalibur suggested we send the whole bow back and replaced the entire package. ("other than the scope")

So I have faith in the company....now one question I do have is that I always believed that the limbs had a lifetime warranty and yet the claim 60% longer limb life on the new matrix???

Do the limbs get weak, shoot slower, with less power or???

If so how does one tell when they are below acceptable levels and send them back or???
Backin up ain't the same as given in...Been there and done that and paying the price... meanwhile looking to the next double dog dare.
